LPG
Liquid Petroleum Gas ( LPG ) Supply Drumoig
The Drumoig Estate has no natural gas supply and the vast majority of houses have LPG unless a resident has installed an alternative energy supply. The Drumoig Residents Association (DRA) has successfully negotiated an extremely competitive price for LPG for a number of years. Craigie households are in what is known as a metered estate (one communal tank supplying all houses) whereas Comerton and Forgan households have individual tanks. Each household must sign up to a supply contract every two years and this is normally completed when the DRA have negotiated a price with suppliers. Craigie having a communal tank can have only one supplier whereas Comerton and Forgan can have more than one.
After negotiations are completed (every two years) the DRA sends out all the relevant information to all residents. A recommendation will be given but it is then the responsibility of each individual resident to sign their own two year supply contract with their choice of supplier. Supply contracts are only available over a minimum of two years.
New Residents to Drumoig
If you are a new resident to Drumoig it is important that you contact John Cuthbertson, Scheme Representative, who will give you all the relevant information regarding the supply of LPG. He can be contacted through the DRA Secretary and he will inform you of the current negotiated price for DRA members and a supplier contact. In the past new residents have not always been given the DRA negotiated price when contacting the supplier so don't sign a supply contract until you have all the relevant information from John.
Drumoig LPG Contracts – August 2021
The next LPG price negotiations will take place in July / August 2021. The current suppliers will be contacted to discuss price proposals for the next 2 year period and other potential suppliers will also be contacted. Full details and further information will be circulated to all DRA members when price negotiations are complete.
Drumoig LPG Contracts - August 2019
With most DRA member LPG contracts due to expire between August and October 2019, DRA entered into contract negotiations with 3 key LPG suppliers and once again have secured continued competitive pricing. This pricing is available to all members for the next two years contractual period. Note that some Comerton and Forgan members, who have moved to Drumoig during the current contract period, may not be out of their current contract period.
Craigie Hill members, which is a Metered Estate supplied solely by Flogas, will have received pricing details from Scheme Representative, John Cuthbertson, and will also be contacted direct from Flogas with full details of the contract agreement.
Comerton & Forgan members all have individual LPG tanks and are currently supplied by three LPG suppliers. Contract price offers were received from 3 suppliers and in turn they have been notified to members allowing them to choose which offer to accept. Each member’s current supplier will contact them to arrange signing of contracts. Members from Comerton and Forgan can choose to be supplied by any company and switching is permitted at the end of a contract period.
DRA has once again been able to negotiate, of behalf of its members, very competitive pricing highlighting one of the major advantages of being a member of the Association. Negotiating on behalf of over 100 resident properties has once again proved very positive.
Drumoig LPG Contracts Update – July 2018
The DRA Secretary has recently emailed members, who have elected for the Secretary to hold their email address, with an LPG mid contract update. All current contracts still have one year to run and next summer (2019) DRA will hopefully renegotiate a further two-year contract. Our current pricing remains very competitive and again highlights the importance of DRA negotiating on our members behalf.

Drumoig LPG Supply – Contracts Update August 2017 – July 2019
The Drumoig LPG contracts, negotiated this summer on behalf of residents by Drumoig Community Trust (DCT), are now in place until July 2019.
Craigie – Communal Tank (metered estate)
At the request of Flogas, Craigie’s LPG supplier, we have now formed an Umbrella Group to represent the residents. Flogas now fully recognises the Group as representing the Craigie residents and will negotiate an LPG contract price with them every two years. I am pleased to report that all residents have signed up to the Umbrella Group agreement. Also any new resident to Craigie will now be invited to join the Group and get the benefit of the current contract price. Extremely competitive pricing was negotiated in the summer by the DCT appointed Scheme Representative John Cuthbertson and will run until July 2019.
Comerton & Forgan – Individual Tanks
As residents of both Comerton and Forgan have individual tanks, DCT held LPG price negotiations with a number of leading LPG suppliers. Again extremely competitive pricing was offered by two of the companies and residents were given the choice of staying with their current supplier or changing to one of the others. The majority of residents appear to have signed up with the supplier whose contract price was most competitive. This pricing also runs until July 2019. Note an Umbrella Group, as in Craigie, cannot be formed for residents who have individual tanks.
